Q: For those who don’t know you at ULab, who are you?
A: I am Raúl Romero. I was born in Madrid 36 years ago although I have lived most of my life a little further south, in Getafe .
Q: What do you do?
A: I am a Telecommunications Engineer, specialized in connectivity and networks.
Q: What is your role in the company (if you are not self-employed)?
I am currently working as a freelancer for SAP Germany, supporting the HANA Enterprise Cloud team on routing/switching issues.
Q: Nowadays, we live in a very competitive world. What do you think is the trait that differentiates you from the rest?
A: I like to repay the trust they place in me with hard work and effort. I love to learn new things and help as much as possible.
Q: How did you end up at ULab?
A: By teleworking all the time, I was able to do it from wherever I wanted and also I wanted to spend a few months away from Madrid. Alicante was one of my favorite choices and I quickly found a flat to share, so I didn’t give it a second thought.
I also knew I wanted to join a coworking company and considering everyone said good things about ULab, I came here.
Q: What does ULab offer you as a work place?
A: A more defined schedule and routine. Not using my home as an office
also helps a lot when it comes to separating my professional and personal life.
Q: How do you feel working at ULab with this new normality?
I feel very comfortable. I think that the measures that are being taken are the right ones.
I am also convinced that by being responsible we will soon return to the old normality.
Q: Small test, what book would you like to recommend? And a movie?
“Ikigai” by Hector Garcia and Frances Miralles.
Miralles is the last book I read and I found it very interesting.I recommend it. Regarding the movie, it is not very original to recommend the last one that has won the Oscar, but “Nomadland” is a gem.
Q: Let’s finish with your favorite series.
It’s hard to choose one, I’ve seen so many, but if I had to choose? “The Office.”
