Today we want to introduce you to Jaime, a born entrepreneur. He describes himself as a man of the world who is passionate about entrepreneurship and creating new projects.
He tells us that ULab is the place that fits what he needs to telework and carry out the management of his company.
Would you like to know a little more about his story? Keep reading.
Q: For those who don’t know you at ULab, who are you?
A: My name is Jaime Rubio and I live between Gandía and Alicante, although I was born in Madrid and have family in Andalucía. The truth is that wherever I go they always say “Hey, you are not from here, are you?” so I got the idea that I am a man of the world… hehehehe.
In Gandia I have my offices and part of my family, in Alicante I have my partner, so some days I live in one place and another in another. Luckily one of the advantages of this pandemic has been to be able to telework and that’s why I’m in Ulab.
Q: What do you do for a living?
A: In terms of work, I hate to be called an entrepreneur, despite being 42 years old I consider myself an entrepreneur almost since I was wearing diapers, hehehehe. So I will tell you that in 2003 I started an ecommerce and it seems that I did it at the right time because, today latiendahome.com is a consolidated project in the home market.
As I needed fresh air and to feel the “startup” emotion again at the end of 2019 I started to develop the uptook project, another home ecommerce with a younger profile and with a medium-term international projection. It was launched just a few days ago and it is still like a baby that needs to improve in many things.
Q: In such a competitive world as the current one, what is the trait that differentiates you from the rest?
A: Regarding what differentiates me from the competition in latiendahome.com I would say that the great variety of products we have, also the prices that are very competitive and the high availability of many products in stock. Another differential factor would be that we have omnichannel, because the customer can buy online, or by phone (Monday to Sunday) and in Valencia and Gandia also in physical stores.
As for uptook.com, the differentiation comes from being a project that gives simplicity and satisfaction in a unique way, the idea is to give a shopping experience of 10 spoiling the customer above all. It is also a project that promotes honesty in a world full of aggressive inputs (discounts, counters, infinite sales) and sustainability. All this with a very simple and competitive product catalog.
Q: How did you end up at ULab?
A: I ended up at ULab because I was looking for a place where I could work the days I stayed in Alicante and I liked it from the first minute because it met all the requirements I was looking for. It is modern, clean and there is a good atmosphere.
Q: What does ULab give you as a place to work?
A: It means I don’t have to go back and forth every day to Gandía and I can work comfortably as if I were in my own office. In the future I hope it will bring me to meet people and feel more “at home”.
Q: How do you feel working at ULab with this new normality?
A: I feel great because from day one I have seen everything very clean and optimal conditions are maintained to ensure that everything is safe at the COVID level.
Q: Small test, what book would you like to recommend? And a movie?
A: Ufff… How complicated! That’s like being asked about your favorite food. But since we are on a Coworking site, I will tell you a book or movie that I have liked lately in terms of work.
Book: The entrepreneur who anticipates the future by Elon Musk, because for me he is the new Jobs.
Movie: The Founder, because at a process level it is simply brilliant.
Q: Let’s finish with your favorite series
A: The truth is that I don’t have much time to watch TV, I’m more into music, but the last one I watched on Amazon Prime was Small Coincidences and I laughed a lot.
I love looking through a post that will make people think. Also, thanks for allowing me to comment!
